Vinyasa /Hatha Yoga Flow Classes

“Vinyasa” is also known as “flow”, which means conscious placement of movement and breath, continuous in each flowing movement like water. In Vinyasa yoga, meaning breath is being synchronized with movement, during a series of poses with inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smooth.

My vinyasa classes can have focus on a theme or focus on anatomy. I love a smooth transition from pose to pose, and because of my background as a dancer, I am very creative in my flows, so that it feels natural for the body. I am a big fan on standing poses to ground yourself. I give cues to which muscles to engage in the postures and feel the pose and the stretch.

I like for people to understand and feel the pose, to prohibit injuries or to overcome longterm injuries and deepen your understanding of your body and our mind.

"is Yoga is only for flexible people ?"

 There are always modifications for the poses, no one is asking you to get into poses your not ready for, you can slowly build strength and flexibility.

YIN Yoga 

What is yin yoga and why would someone want to practice it ?

A Yin Yoga class, consist of a series of long-held, from 3 minutes to 5 minutes and even much longer depending on practitioner, No previous knowledge of yoga is necessary.

We sit or lie down, in passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body but also upper body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues.

Holding the posture for longer in order to gently stress the connective tissue ,tendons, fascia, and ligaments, which tend to get stiff and immobile with age.

Why practice Yin? what is the benefits ? 

The physical benefits: this practice makes the joints more elastic. “joint rehabilitation,” and working the joints in this way acts as a preventive health technique, it makes the joints and their core components stronger and more durable, with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility,  lubricating our joints. 

At same time we also work on the Meridians so that the chi /energy flow will increase in certain Meridians /linked to organs realising blockages and boost your Immune system and increase synovial fluid in your joints. 

The mental benefits: awakening of our awareness, finding back to our natural body intelligence, directing our attention towards our inner organs, through breath exercises and visualisations, to regain vitality, in our physical body and our mind. From reactivity towards inner wisdom.

Slowing down our nervous system, so that we can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, so that your cortisol level will sink, your heart rate will fall, you will sleep better and you are strengthening your immune system. 

In my classes I will show you different modifications depending on your anatomy so that you can find a pose that suits your body, because we are all different. I teach mindfulness, basically to learn to listen to our selves, I talk about the meridians in Chinese medicine that are connected to different organ
